A phone screen protector that can heal itself…

IPhone 5s top

Most peoples phone screens are covered in scratches and chips, with the majority of cases and screen protectors designed just to reduce the amount of damage, a Taiwanese company has created a screen that is not only durable but also can heal itself.

Innerexile’s technology used microcapsules filled with a glue-like substance that automatically fills the gaps caused by scratches and chips. The company currently already make screen protectors and cases for the iPhone 6 and 6s range as well as cases for the Macbook.

The self-healing screen protector is 0.2mm thick and has been tested using 2,000g bronze brush. It can fix scratches in one second. However a video from the company has shown an iPhone case being repaired in 30 seconds and the case being bent using 22lb weight without being damaged.

Innerexile’s screen protector is available to order from amazon for as little as £16 with expected shipping not until November 3rd.
